Welcome to the Valley Horse & Saddle Club
Created in 1972, the Valley Horse & Saddle Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the equestrian sport in western New Brunswick.
The Valley Horse & Saddle Club operates as a non-profit organization. Funds are raised through a variety of traditional fund raising ventures, including auctions, raffles, yard sales, ticket sales, and obtaining sponsors. All work is done on a volunteer basis.
The Valley Horse & Saddle Club also supports the growth and development of the equine industry in New Brunswick - directly through the hiring of coaches, judges, and other officials, indirectly through promotion of equine health and veterinary care, through liaison with local stables, feed stores, farmers, veterinarians, and tack shops, and by fostering interest and development in the equine sport.
The mandate of the club is:
- To provide and enhance communication among area horse enthusiasts, local equestrian businesses, and the provincial sport governing agency.
- to provide equestrian education - both practical and theory - to members
- to offer skill development clinics
- to foster and encourage official’s training and development for local members
- to support (financially) exposure to national level coaching for members
- to organize and host local, provincial, and regional equestrian competitions
- to organize and host equestrian related information sessions on topics of interest to members
All educational activities must be instructed or facilitated by a qualified Canadian Equestrian Federation Coach or professionals from the equine industry.
The VHSC owns 10 acres in Bairdsville, New Brunswick. Here, the club has constructed a 46 stall barn, 2 show rings, announcer’s booth, canteen and storage building. The property is well maintained, completely fenced, and adds aesthetically and culturally to the surrounding area. The VHSC is a current member of the Western Valley Equestrian Association and the New Brunswick Equestrian Association. Many of our members own and operate equestrian related businesses.
